Thorens TD2035 SME M2.9 - High End Turntable Equipped with the new SME ME2-9 tonearm, an extremely rigid acrylic chassis and a thick aluminum plate, the Thorens TD 2035 Acrylic Series model not only looks amazing, it sounds amazing too. The external Thorens acrylic motor unit was designed to avoid any mechanical contact with the chassis, thus preventing the transmission of vibrations. The entire drive system also rests on special shock-absorbing feet, which reliably absorb all types of environmental vibrations, ensuring smooth and consistent operation. Designed specifically for Thorens turntables, the SME ME2-9 tonearm features an extremely high-performance, low-friction bearing and an innovative, frictionless magnetic anti-skating system. The tonearm tube is made of laminated aluminum, dampened using Reduced Modal Resonance (RMR) technology. At its tip is a decoupled, double-counterweight made of brass. The tonearm's center of gravity is located at the stylus tip.
